A Little Song I'm Working On
I've been taking some songwriting classes. I love this little song I wrote taking Abbie Gardner's songwriting workshop on Zoom. Thought I'd share it here. I was imagining myself as a little old lady, sitting at an outdoor reception for my granddaughter's wedding.

Which party favor?
I am designing little party favors for my mother, who at 88 years old, still has big parties in her home!
Here are her choices:
1.Raffia and bird
2. Leather, chain links, key ring and bird...
4. Just raffia...
5. Leather, chain links with keyring, no bird...
Which is your favorite? I am getting tickled thinking about "Portlandia" 's episode where the shop keepers "Put a bird on it!"
And my kids tease me about this one: She's Making Jewelry Now.
Happy 30th anniversary dish garden...
I happened to have 2 of these owl beads, so I added them to a dish garden made from a vintage casserole dish. My dear friend is celebrating 30 years of marriage, hence the pearl enhanced veil. Her husband is a golfer. I gave him a dapper look by topping a vintage shell bead with a pearl. Voila: a beret. I stopped myself when I started imagining candelabrum and little forest guests... or a tiny golf club and bag, and a suitcase for the bride!
Serving up some happy!
A literal wedding...
Brainstorming for a table decoration for my literature nerd bride and groom to be. Not there yet... I'm thinking we need to cover the books with an airy marbled paper. In the second photo I lightened it up by using fewer books and no book ends.
New bridesmaid earrings!
Working up new design for our newly engaged daughter's bridal party.
because Seven ate Nine...
You know the old joke: "Why is 6 afraid of 7?" because 7,8, 9. Our bride-to-be was home for Easter and we took on a couple of projects. She found an idea for table numbers that struck her fancy and mine as well. We had Lowe's cut up some lumber for us, primed it in black, then sprayed them blue. Danielle created the number shapes using a million little brass stampings that we spray painted silver.
Wedding Bracelet
I was invited to a bridal shower and asked to bring something I find indispensable. I made this pearl and sterling bracelet with love bird charm. I think glass is a must, don't you?
Indie Bride Feature!
I just remembered the nice folks at Indie Bride an Oh so cool web site offered to feature me. I forgot all about it until this morning. Here is the link to the gorgeous page they did back in July on my work.
